Co-Founder and CEO of Zume Pizza
My first job in food was:
Living on a water buffalo farm in Paestum
What brought me to San Francisco:
Starting Zume Pizza with my business partner and returning to my hometown.
My one-year goal:
To become the number one pizza delivery player in the Mountain View market . . . and then the world!
My five-year dream:
To have a big exit with Zume and focus on my family.
My mentor, and the most important lesson I learned from him or her:
Danny Meyer - Take care of your team first. If your team is happy then your customers will be happy. If your customers are happy then your community will be happy.
The person I'd most like to collaborate with, and the project:
Kanye West on a pizza or a pizza t-shirt . . . Yeezus . . . Cheezus? - Michelle Polizone/20th Century Cafe Cookbook; Joyce Goldstein/Preserves Cookbook
What I can teach other people in this group:
Start-up stories. Bootstrapping, fundraising, building a product, hiring talent, scaling up.
My favorite thing to cook:
(So many things and it changes all the time) I love making cheese at home, mozzarella and burrata mostly, in any shape or form.
How I relax:
:( I don't really relax
I am proof that people follow strong leaders but strong comes in lots of different packages.
