California Department of Food and Ag, Office of Farm to Fork - marketing
My first job in food was:
Tartine, the year it opened (I'm old).
What brought me to San Francisco:
Who knows, but it had something to do with food. I had just moved back from France and wanted to maintain the lifestyle I had experienced there.
My one-year goal:
My goal is to have more time to devote to improving myself and my career. Working full time with kids leaves very little time for much of anything else. I basically do everything in my life poorly these days, including attending these events.
My five-year dream:
Continue making beautiful things and connecting people to California fruits and vegetables.
My mentor, and the most important lesson I learned from him or her:
Deborah Rogers, founder of the Olive Press. She always believed in me and pushed me to think about what I actually wanted to do and what I can bring to the table. Chad Robertson is the reason I realized there was more to the food world than working in a restaurant. He also taught me rose is king.
The person I'd most like to collaborate with, and the project:
Aubrie Pick. I want to take high-quality appetizing photos of school lunch food.
What I can teach other people in this group:
How to sort of hold it together once you make that step into having a family and maintaining a career.
My favorite thing to cook:
Whatever just came out of the garden or orchard + whatever is in the fridge.
How I relax:
Sleeping, weeding, yogaing
I am proof that not sure....
